moms of 3-4 month olds - what are you doing Re:Holiday Pics

so i didnt think too much about going crazy with the pictures, i thought i would get some shots and send out christimas cards but this site is making me crazyyyyyyy.... this morning i tried to take pics of DD (who is 3 months old) and im not a fan of any of them....
so im just wondering what are you doing with your 3-4 month olds?
are you taking pics at home....?? any advice??? private photographer??? studio???? just the mall with santa???

Don't let this site make you crazy. It is not even Thanksgiving yet. Mine will be done next week but even with that, I will be the earliest of my non-LIF friends.

I am taking my 4 month old and 2 yr old to Kiddie Kandids next week and am for a good shot!

I took DS when he was 5 months old and they did a good job. So they turn out!

I took my 10.5 week old to Target on Thursday for his pictures....We got some good shots considering how young he was. I am making my own card though with the pictures we got....

I took my pictures myself and did the pictures through shutterfly.

I am not a good photographer, wish I was...so we are taking DS to Sears this weekend for holiday pics and we also plan to take him to see Santa.

I took my own pics when he was 3 months. I have to be honest, I took about 400 pics over the course of a week and just went with it. Most of it is just waiting for them to smile or look at you. You can always wrap a box up like a present and put the baby on it, beside it, etc and see what happens. Or put them in a stocking. Or give a shiny ornament and see what they do with it.

And an FYI: Some places won't allow Santa pics to be printed as your Christmas photo. They really crack down on those copyrighted pics.

I wasted most of my pics on trying this shot while he was awake. Who knew a small baby can shake the lights so much when they are awake?


I propped him up on his bouncer with a green blanket behind him and kept snapping pics in hopes of getting a smile.

ds was 3 months last xmas... i actually lucked out that he gave me a good pic with santa.... but i was planning on using whatever good pic i could get at home....

I never do studio pics...always do my own. I have a 3 1/2 year old and a 3 month old and hope that she will hold him in one and maybe have one of each of them. I normally wait until mid december to do them but this year I am hoping to get a start on them next week sometime.


Dont stress - they are only christmas cards.

I'm taking them myself, and I haven't done it yet. I plan on just snapping away for as long as she'll let me until I get a good one. And if we don't, I'll try again the next day. Thank God for digital cameras. :)

DD is 3.5 months and i just did her christmas pics yesterday. I just laid a white sheets over the couch and a pillow and got her dressed up. I am using shutterfly to make the christmas cards since i have so many pampers points to use and that will be the christmas cards. here is her picture. I had her propped up.

I've been so indecisive about this...I honestly love the professional pics and wish I had the $$$ to do it for Christmas, but we don't.
So, I've decided to do them myself - I'm hoping if I take a gazillion pics, I'll get a couple of decent ones from the lot.

I'm not going crazy. Just waiting as late as I can. DS will be 6 months the day after Christmas. He changes and grows by the week/day so I'm going to wait until at least December, at least until we have our tree up and do some fun things myself with lights and wrapping paper props and such. I always have hope that there will be a huge snow storm the first week in December! And I'll see how his first pic with Santa comes out... in December too!

I have to get past Thanksgiving before I can think Christmas.
