Moms of 3 or more-Questions
So DH and I had the talk and we are seriously considering going for a 3rd in the very near future (it's not definite yet though). I think our biggest concern is money, how much will having a 3rd affect things. Right now DD is in preschool 4 days a week, I want to do the same for DS when he's older. DD has art class and dance class. They get new clothes, shoes, etc. I feel like if we have a 3rd all of that will change and the 3rd kid will get the short end of the deal especially if they are very close in age and both kids will be doing the same things at the same time.
How do you or do you plan to do it when it comes to classes, vacations, etc?
Does your younger kid get all the hand me downs or do they get new things as well?
Do you save for college for all of them now or will you worry about that down the road?
My heart tells me I want another but the logistics of it scare me.

Re: Moms of 3 or more-Questions
well, i guess i really don't think about how much of a difference it makes because now i'm having a forth! lol.. but for us... traveling is definitly more expensive. We only have the one in preschool at a time because of their age differences. so that saves money. Only 2 of my kids are into sports and clubs so far.. but that DOES get expensive.. but you know what somehow we do it.. and i wouldn't change a thing.

Great questions Jenn! I've been meaning to ask similar ones bc we're totally on the fence now about having more.

Re: Moms of 3 or more-Questions
Well, as far as hand me downs go, both my younger boy and girl both wear them. I do buy them 2-3 new outfits each season. IMO my 3 year old doesn't care about wearing her sister's old clothes. She gets excited about it actually.
We've been saving more for retirement than for college. Our plan is when I go back to work my paycheck will go to the college fund.
As far as preschool and classes go, I've found most give you a discount for having more than one child there. So my DD and DS will be in preschool next year and I get a 20% discount for it. The girls are starting karate in a few months and it really is a small expense (55/month for both of them).
ETA: And I will be honest. When we went from 1-2 kids, we didn't see that much of an increase in our month to month bills. But after our third they went up A LOT so that is also something to consider.

Do you mean food and such? Which bills?

Yes, food and basic necessities went up by at least $300 per month after our third.
Now, every two weeks I spend around $350 on groceries, and I have had to cut out a lot of my organic food because then the bill was over $400.
