Moms of 4 yr boys-rose825, anna, JTK, etc Come in
All input welcome - from Moms with boys a little bigger too - barbara, Tracy...
Whats on the holiday list for your boys? Some of the stuff my son likes is a tough call. 4 years seems to be an in between stage for certain things. He LOVES building stuff but hes too young for some of the things (6+) and too old for some others (3+). With the building toys it seems to be especially divided. WHy does everything he loves have little parts. I dont so much have a problem with the small parts as much as its unrealistic for him to be able to build a Knex battery powered ferris wheel but making little 6 piece animals will bore him.
Looking for more ideas...HELP!

* This spiky inside out ball you wear on your head
* Vtech Vsmile and games

I'll get you Joseph's list but headsup for the moms of the imaginex castle.
There are little pieces in them. Your son will not be able to build them - unless they are more dexterous then me or my husband.
The pieces are a PITA & once you've spend over a half hour building it, you can watch as your son's dragon smashes it to smithereens. In the end, we have them all over the place. I hate, hate, hate it. It's the same as the batcave.
If you opt for it, buy some crazy glue with it.

What isn't Ryan getting fro Christmas. My problem is I finished shopping weeks ago but I keep seeeing things he asks for or I want for him. Fortunately I can save some for his birthday which is 3 weeks later.
I cant help you too much with building unless he likes to build train tracks. My DS is train obsessed. But what about Lincoln Logs? I wouldnt get anything for 6 and up because he will just get too frustrated not being able to do it.
This is what I can think of that we got DS:
