Moms of 8-10 month olds (who drink Formula)
DD (will be 9 months next week) was getting 4 bottles a day. Total of 24-26oz of formula a day. I noticed she was starting to give me a problem with eating solids, so the last few days I cut out one of her bottles. Now she is only drinking 3 a day aprox. 18oz of formula a day. She has been eating her solids again now and sleeping better than ever. Is this ok? Or does she still need to be eating more formula a day. I have her 9 month apt on the 26th, but just wanted to see ahead of time.

Well Hannah just turned 8 months and she is getting 4 bottles a day still. But she only has 6 oz at a time if im lucky so there are times she will only get 18 oz. She gets picky with her solids too though. I think its ok. I'm a lot of help huh.

I'm having the same issue, so I'm less help. DS gets 6-7 oz at a time and drinks 4 bottles a day. I wouldn't eliminate a bottle yet. My ped said to give DS around 24 oz a day of formula until he changes to whole milk.

Hi Kristin. The pediatrician said that as long as he is still getting at least 18 ounces a day (he gave us a range of 18-24 ounces) of formula, he is good. Then again Athan has never seen solid food that he doesn't want. to Nina!!

I think you are fine. I know kids who were down to 2-3 bottles a day by that time.
I had asked my ped about this (although I have the opposite issue DS eats 3 full meals of table food and still takes 4.5 bottles a day) and she said not to worry just to follow his cues.

Luke is almost 9 months...( I think him and Nina are a day apart)
He has been on 3 bottles 8oz each a day now for almost a month. My doctor says its fine. At least 20 ounces a day..never less. She also said its ok to count the formula you put in cereal as an ounce or two.
Hope that helps!!
