Moms of 8-9 month olds
Good Monring ladies. I just have a few ?s because I feel like my boys just arent eating enough and to be honest I am not sure how much they should be eating. I want to make sure I am not over doing it or under doing it for that matter. Thank you
How much food is your child eating? Are they eating a full Stage 3 jar?
How much formula are they drinking? Are they drinking anything else besides the formula and if so is it given to them in their bottles?

Re: Moms of 8-9 month olds
my ds hasn't even tried stage 3 yet..he's been eating stage 2, all different kinds, plus cereal. I give him a 6 oz bottle of formula for breakfast, then 3 hrs later some cereal with fruit, for a snack yobaby yogurt, then for dinner some veggies w/meat (stage 2) with a little formula. I would say throughout the day he gets like 20-24 oz formula. We got the go ahead for egg yolks, and lots of table food, but i'm scared of him choking so i'll hold off on that for a while. Oh, he also gets like 1 oz pear juice diluted with 3oz water in a bottle for the hot days. He doesn't like water on its own. But i make sure to space it out through the day

Re: Moms of 8-9 month olds
DD is 8 months and I started her on finger foods b/c she was being incredibly picky and not wanting to be fed anything by anyone else. Dr. had us start giving her mashed real food instead of jar food at 6 months.
She has 4 bottles throughout the day, drinking anywhere from 5-7 oz at each bottle.
I give her water in her sippy cup- it's hard to tell exactly how much she has, but I think somewhere around 6 oz per day of water.
I give 3 meals per day. Sometimes she will eat a bunch (last night she ate almost an entire bbq chicken leg, 1/4 of an avacado, some carrots, and a few bites of whole wheat bread). Othertimes she takes 2 bites and doesn't want anymore.
When she was on baby food she was eating 1 to 1/2 stage 2 foods.
As long as your kids are gaining weight and getting enough to drink they are fine. They will eat when they are hungry. I would start trying to offer some finger foods though...cheerios or whatever. They will enjoy being able to feed themselves.

Re: Moms of 8-9 month olds
DS is 9.5mos. Although his intake varies a bit by the day he generally drinks b/w 20-24oz of formula. He also eats three solid meals a day. Breakfast is yogurt or cereal and fruit (2oz generally). Lunch is Fruit, Veggies and Protein - generally about 2 oz of each (i don't do jars really so not sure how much a jar is). Dinner is same. Sometimes he has some snacking in there but this usually fills him up. Once in a while he gets some VERY diluted prune juice in a sippy cup if he needs it

Re: Moms of 8-9 month olds
Looks like all our 8 months olds have a very similar schedule.
My dd is 18 & 1/2 lbs.
7 AM Wake Up - 6oz bottle (she finishes) 10/11 AM - 1 stage 2 fruit & cereal, some gerber puffs she can self feed with or a zwyback (sp?) toast. After I offer a 6oz bottle she usually doesn't finish. 2 PM - lunch another stage 2 jar fruit, bottle she doesn't usually finish 5 PM - 1 stage 2 veggie w/ meat 5:30 PM - 6oz bottle I have her finish 6-6:30 - Bed Time
If we are out I may bring her sippy cup with juice& water.
I don't put anything but formula in her bottle. Maybe water in the future. But thats it. I want her off the bottle a/s/a/p if she knows she only gets milk or water from it I'm hoping she'll wean herself off.

Re: Moms of 8-9 month olds
We havent started stage 3 yet. DD is 9m on the 22nd. I give her a jar of fruit and 3 tbsp of cereal for breakfast, lunch & dinner- 1/2 jar of meat, 1/2 jar of veg, and 1 jar of fruit. She drinks 3-8oz bottles of formula. She was duing 6ozs, but i guess b/c of the heat, shes been wanting more. Im thinking i should start bumping up the food intake.
eta: last docs visit.. she was 17 lbs 12 ozs.

Re: Moms of 8-9 month olds
DD will be 9 months on the 21st. She does the following
7:30 (8 oz. bottle-she may not finish this)
9:30 3 T cereal, fruit (I guess about a stage 2 amount)
12:30 1/2 yogurt and either a fruit or veggie (about a stage one size)...also some cheerios or puffs
3:00 6 oz. bottle (rarely does she finish this)
5:30 3 T cereal, meat, and a stage 2 amount of veggies
7:30 8 oz. bottle (she usually finishes this), bed
No idea if I should give yogurt each day, but she LOVES it!
ETA: She hasn't been weighed since march at her 6 month visit. Then she was 15 lbs. 15 oz, so I guess she is around 18-19 lbs now.

no i don't think you are under feeding. But i think for lunch you might want to add a fruit or veggie. Justs a 1/2 a jar of meat seems not all that much IMO.
I too thought i should be stepping up the ounces of food he eats.
For us:
Breakfast: 3 tblsp of cereal and stage 2 fruit
Lunch: stage 2 fruit mix or a Yobaby Yogurt or veggie mix
Dinner: Stage 2 Dinner meal and a Stage 2 fruit dessert.
I feel like i should be giving more at lunch but not sure

No, that's about what I was doing until recently. My DS is almost 9 months old.
Now it's 3-8 oz bottles breakfast: cereal and fruit lunch: stage 2 or 3 1 jar depending on how hungry he seems. Sometimes i could just tell. He loathes yogurt. snack: puffs or a piece of real fruitnand a little water dinner: pastina or cereal with a veggie /veggie/meat combo.

I don't think you are underfeeding, but maybe up the food at lunch? The formula is most mportant under 1 so if she is actually taking 4, 7 oz bottles, I think you are fine.
