mom's of a toddler & newborn....Stroller Recs
What stroller do you like using?
My DD loves her current stroller, & there are times I need her to be in a stroller, especially if I am going to be out alone in stores with the 2 of them.
Need recs on strollers. TIA!!!

We have the City Mini Double and so far we love it (disclaimer it's only been a week but we've actually used it everyday so far!)

I have teh Graco Duoglider and love it. I didn't want a side to side. It's a little heavy but it's roomy and easy to maneuver.

Re: mom's of a toddler & newborn....Stroller Recs
We test drove a whooooole bunch of them. My favorite was the City Mini Double, but DD didn't like it because the seats don't sit up all the way, and she was constantly pulling herself up on the bar. She freaked out whenever we tried it out.
We wound up with the Combi Twin Sport. It's super lightweight, can accommodate a Graco carseat (though they don't advertise this because they want you to buy their carseat), and it folds up to the size of a single stroller!
DS will be born in 5 days and we'll see how it goes then, but this was the one that had the most features that I was looking for. When we were buying it, a woman in BBB pulled me aside and told me that this stroller was the best purchase she ever made, that she brought it to Disney and it saved her! It's always good to hear practical advice from moms who are using it.

Re: mom's of a toddler & newborn....Stroller Recs
I 'l check them out! Any otheres???
I don't think I want a side-by-side one.
Something light and compact would be ideal!!! and to fit my chicco carseat.
Maybe I should wait a little longer and then testi them out.....since DD #1 will probably decide which we get

my friend has the new City Select and love it - not a side by side and adapts to most carseats

From my experience, the front-back strollers are MUCH heavier than the side-by-sides. I needed something under 27-28 lbs. because of my past back problems...and that automatically took a front-back stroller out of the running for us.
Unless, as one of the OP said, you look into the City Select...which is about $500 just by itself and then you have to buy the extra seat and all the accessories

I need to check out the Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem stroller
I was told to check it out with my DS first because with double strollers the bigger child may not fit well.

Have you checked out the new Chicco Together? It's wayyy lighter than the Graco inline stroller...folds up similar to the Chicco Cortina.
I have tried it out in the stores....DS loved it...so it's most likely the one we will get.

I have this and other than the fact that it's 34 lbs (though I don't know how heavy other front to back doubles are) it's a fantastic stroller, handles very well, and DS is very comfy in it. He loves to sit up straight and this one has a seat that does. Right now DD is in the infant seat so if he wanted to recline at all, he'd have to sit in the back - but it's so nice to have the option of putting the infant seat in front or back. The basket underneath is big and I am always throwing stuff in between the two seats - the basket extends almost to the front of the stroller! Plus the sunshades are large and the one in the front is removable (the one in the back might be too but I never tried to take it off).

A sit and stand is a great option for quick errands.
Our walking stroller is the Phil and Ted Sport's Buggy and I really love it. People always comment on it when we are out and about!

Re: mom's of a toddler & newborn....Stroller Recs
We're getting the Sit n Stand Double stroller.
It's one of the only doubles that will fit our Chicco Keyfit 30 car seat. And I like the fact that it has the "standing" or "easy seat" options for when DD gets older and doesn't want to be strapped into the seat. (that's our main reason for not getting the Chicco double stroller)

Re: mom's of a toddler & newborn....Stroller Recs
My toddler hated the stroller until she saw baby sister in one. I bought a used Sit n stand off LIF and so far it's worked out great.

I registered for the sit and stand double too. It has a seat that you can put in or leave out with the shelf to sit on or platform to stand. DS #1 will be 4 an I didn't think a regular double would make sense for us.
I also registered for a buggy board to attach to my snap and go buggy board

I have the city select and LOVE it! DS1 loves it and climbs in willingly. It adapts to the carseat. The seats face either way. It's so easy to maneuver and I can use it as a single when I only take one DS. Cannot say enough great things about it!

I haven't used it yet. But I got a Baby Jogger Citi Classic.
http://shop.sndkids.com/browse.cfm/4,1007.html
It's kind of in between the Mini and the Elite. It was replaced by the Select, so it's discontinued. That's how we got a good deal on it.

we sampled ALL the double strollers in BBB, DH and I both fell in LOVE with the Phil and Ted...waiting for DS to arrive to see if DD will sit more than 5 min in a stroller
