Mom's of babies over a year w/ milk allergy...
What do your children drink instead of milk? I'm starting to worry because Ava is allergic to milk AND soy AND rice, so it's like she can have soy milk or rice milk. What do you give a baby over a year instead?
Also, if anyone has any suggestions of foods I can start giving her that don't have dairy or soy. Any brands you like? I bought her dairy/soy free whole grain organic puffs and also their teething biscuits and she likes those. I'm always looking for variety since she really eats anything I give her. TIA!

Right now DD is still on Nutrmigen formula (13 months)... The dr.'s will re-evaluate at 15 months. At that point she will be re-tested for all of her allergies to see if she has outgrown some.
I worried alot about what DD would drink at the 1 year mark - Don't. Your doctor will work with you. You may just have to extend the formula like my DD.

While Madeline doesn't have a severe reaction, I'm pretty sure she is allergic to dairy . I've given her cheese and yogurt and she got a really bad diaper rash, and really foul-smelling diapers.
My nightmasre is having to continue Nutramigen at 23 bucks a pop ! We've been counting the days till we are Nutramigen-free! She'll be 11 months next week , I don't see her getting over her allergy by February.

Ugh! Not what I was hoping to hear! Ava is on Neocate and our insurance does NOT cover it At 130 bucks a week, I'm ready to go bankrupt. She can't even have Nutramigen or Alimentum, she's so allergic that she has a reaction to that, too.

Just curious...what insurance do you have? DS is on Neocate since around 6 weeks and our insurance didn't want to cover it but we researched it and it's a NYS law that if it is the only thing your child can have to survive they HAVE to cover it. We needed Dr's notes and forms for the insurance co. It took awhile and they were a royal pain about it but we saved all our receipts and when they finally approved it, they reimbursed us for everything we layed out.

Jake has a milk allergy and we give him soymilk. My friends son is also allergic to milk, soy and he drinks goat milk.

I know it's a law, but it does not cover companies that opt for "private" insurance. So, we have aetna, which is great insurance, but they don't have to cover it because JT's company has "private" insurance, therefore the law does not apply to them

We are still on Neocate at 14 months! When we go back next month doc will reevaluate. We are so behind in solids because I was always so afraid something might have dairy in it. Now when I try to give him solids he gags and throws up Whatever you do don't let that happen!!!!!

Kevin is allergic to Milk and drinks Soy.
I've heard of Oat milk but I've never seen it in the stores. You may find it in a natural food store or online.
Some things he eats include Freihofer Country White Bread, Tyson Chicken Nuggets, Boar's Head Brand Ham & Turkey, Hebrew National Hot Dogs, lots of fruits and veggies, and some things that I make from allgery-free cookbooks I have.

So is DD - I found that she does well on Vegan products - like Vegan cheese, Vegan burgers, and chicken fingers. I introduced things slowly and she is doing better. I know how hard it is.

 - It'll work out. It took DD a long time to get used to the Nutramigen... maybe as your DD gets older, the severity will lessen?
