Moms of criers......
What do you do to satisfy them?
it seems all Gavin does when he's awake is cry, cry, cry......
And I'm so jealous because Gavin's cousin Christopher (jenBenmen's DS) is SUCH a happy baby, makes Gavin look like the spawn of *****!!!

Papasan swing with a Baby Einstein DVD, even really young. The oven fan....and sometimes just the shower running.

Re: Moms of criers......
Have you tried the 5 "S's"?
Swaddling, side positioning in your arms, shushing, swinging and sucking.

Re: Moms of criers......
i had this type of newborn..... it is beyond trying she cried endlessly for the first 3 months. i have to say that there are 2 things that helped. one was simply time-as she grew she seemed to be happier that she was out of the womb! but the thing that seemed to REALLY help was that we realized she had acid reflux. we started her on an antacid called Axid. i saw an improvement almost immediately. she is still on it at 6 months. how old is your DS? could he have reflux? do you swaddle him or use white noise in his room? these things helped my colicky DD a lot too. she is also EBF but now that we are on solids she is happier too. i won't lie-she is still a "crier" but that is just her and part of her personality when she is pis*ed off, hungry or tired. it will get better-i hated when people said that but they were right! good luck! Edited to add- my sister in law's baby is 6 weeks older than my DD and is a sweet angel baby! also made my DD look like a demon child!

we tried it for bedtime, I guess I should try it for daytime too.
I don't want him to sleep all day though, I would love for him to be awake and happy, or at least content.....
We already changed his formula and that helped a lot, I see less gassiness, but have started back on the Maalox b/c he seemed to be getting gassy again. he already had the barium swallow when we were in the hospital, they said he had minor reflux, not enough to warrant meds......maybe he's worse now though....

Your little guy is still really young he should be sleeping most of the day. I would try the 5 S's during the day too.
