moms of crusiers/walkers...re: nap time
how the he!! do you get them to lay down and go to sleep?! Ian was the BEST sleeper/napper. i'd put him down and he would go right to sleep. no problems.
now that he figured our he can stand in the crib and walk around, he thinks its hilarious!! but he's exhausted! the last couple of days i literally had to rock him to sleep for his naps and place him back in the crib. luckily <knock on wood> when its time for bed at night he goes right to sleep. but yesterday he only took 1 nap! im so tired just trying to get him to sleep now. help

When DD first started cruising/walking she did the same thing for naps. As long as she wasn't screaming I'd let her do what she wanted in the crib. She would eventually plop down and go to sleep.

This is what we do too. After like 15 minutes he plops down and falls asleep. I watch him, it's pretty funny - he'll lay down, change his mind and stand, cruise a bit, lay down again, his eyes will close ever so briefly and he's up again. Once he's down with his tushy up in the air (it's his new sleeping position ) I know he's about to fall asleep.

thanks guys! i feel like if i leave him in there he'll never decide to lay down and fall asleep. but i guess im making a bad habit of taking him out and rocking it. i secretly like it tho.
i just realized. from day 1 i would lay DS in his crib. even now, ill carry him into the crib so i put him down laying down. do you think he doesnt know to lay down himself? omg that sounds so dumb. lol like should i start putting him in sitting and so he can figure it out that he has to lay down?

I've always lay down my DS. Now that the crib is lowered all the way, I try to lay him down but can't so I kind of sit him and then help hiim lay down. He knows very well how to lay down. Don't worry, he'll figure it out. They learn these things via trial and error. DS used not be able to get down from standing well when in his crib but he figured it out in no time.

DS did the same thing for about a month. He would scream and cry and would eventually fall asleep. Eventually he learned to just lay back down. Now sometimes he will sit and play or turn on his aquarium before his naps.
