Moms of Itty Bitty Ones (babies who are on the low end of the weight chart) - Infant Car Seat question

My oldest daughter was 15 months before we took her out of the infant car seat and changed her to the front facing car seat (she was 19 lbs 10 ounces. I physically could no longer fold her in half to get her in that thing).

The twins at 1 year are tipping the scales at 16-17 pounds. At this rate, I firmly believe that I will drop them off to college in their infant carriers.

Was anyone in a similar position? How old were your little ones when they could finally face forward?

excuse any type-os. I am lazy and spell check keeps freezing up.

Thanks in advance.

DS was in the infant carrier until 13 months and his little sister will join your twins going to college in it was wellChat Icon

I kept him in, and will do the same, since he was a peanut and seemed comforable and I knew it was safest. I really get my money's worth out of those things!

Ann is tiny (has been in the 10th percentile for height & weight) but is rear facing in a convertible seat in my car because it really was a hassle for me to carry the infant seat (she was 14lbs 4oz at her 6 month appt - we got for her 9 month on Wednesday) - I guess I'm just a weakling! LOL!

While I can't wait to see how cute she'll look front facing Chat Icon , I don't expect to do it until she's over 20lbs (which I've got to believe will definitely be past one year) unless she starts getting tall (my Dh is 6'5" and I keep expecting her to sprout up!).

I just took the bundle me out of the infant seat and cannot believe how roomy the seat looks now! DS is 5 1/2 months and is only approx 15 lbs. I bought the SnugRide 32 thinking that I would get the most use out of it and boy, I cannt see my little munchkin growing out of it anytime soon. I would expect that my arm will fall off first as I can bearly drag him out to the car as it is now.Chat Icon
