Moms of Jan/Feb babies.
I'm due jan 30 and very confused about what to get as far as outerwear. I plan on using the Bundle Me but not sure what else. Can I just use a fleecy sweater top with a blanket or do I need to get a snowsuit bunting type of thing.
I bought something like this from Gap outlet but thinking it will be to heavy/warm in the Bundle Me.

That looks perfect. You aren't going to be out that much the first month or so anyway.

Re: Moms of Jan/Feb babies.
DD was born the beginning of February.
I used the bundle me, and would dress her in layers if we had to go out. She often had a onsie undershirt under her clothes, and I had little sweaters/hoodies for her.
As a newborn, she was always in the infant seat when we went out, as I would just put it in the snap and go.

Re: Moms of Jan/Feb babies.
i had january and an october baby. i never used anything that heavy for them.
i had the variant of hte bundle me that only fits over hte top of the car seat with a small opening for their face. it was fleece inside, and it was definitely good to keep them warm.
i usually used something like feety pajamas for them when they were tha small. gurantees their feet were covered. then put a blanket over their legs/lap, and zipped up the bundle me.
they also had a hat on. but otherwise i didn't overdress either one of them.

Re: Moms of Jan/Feb babies.
I bought something like that for DD (born in dec). I never ever used it. We used the kiddopotamus in her car seat when we went out, and also a blanket. Dressed her in layers, put a hat on her, and that was it. We're planning the same thing for DD2, due this Jan

I had a Feb baby and just used The Urban Bundle Me.
I have automatic start on my car, so it was always warm when we got in! And he never left the infant seat when we were at a store.

DS was born 1/18/09. We used the bundle me. He was great (in fact in the bundle me sometimes he'd sweat!! (plus a hat of course))

How would you use it in the carseat??? Open the bottom up? Thats what I would be worried about...
ETA... I mean like between the legs... b/c the thingy in the car seat goes between the legs... so do you plan on unbuttoning it?

Thanks guys...i'm going to return it. I have a feeling it will never be used. I have a snap n go so he'll never leave the infant carrier when going out. I don't know what I was thinking...lol.

Re: Moms of Jan/Feb babies.
DS was born in December. I was given something similar to what you posted as a gift and it was beautiful but I only used it 1x, to take DS outside to take pics of him in the snow. I used to put a light rec blanket on him with the bundle me and then just throw a blanket over the whole thing just to get to and from the car. It was plenty and usually DS was sweating when we took him out!

Re: Moms of Jan/Feb babies.
I have no intentions of getting bunting. I will just use the Bundle Me with a hat and if I feel like it's really cold, I may throw an extra blanket on the baby's chest.

Re: Moms of Jan/Feb babies.
Kaydyn was the end of January. She was ALWAYS really warm so we used the bundle me and just dressed her in regular clothes. I got 3 bunting/snowsuits at my shower and didn't use any of them.
I think one time when it was really cold we put a blanket on her under the bundle me and she was a puddle of sweat by the time we took it off.

Re: Moms of Jan/Feb babies.
I was due 1/29 and Sasha was born on 2/3. I couldn't even take her outside until she was a certain weight, and to be honest it's so cold and so hard to get out of the house-- you will probably just stay in until it starts to warm up. Although you will obviously need to go to the doc, etc.
I never figured out the bundle me in the beginning, so I didn't bother with it. I used a heavy stroller blanket over the car seat and put her in short sleeve onesie/feety PJs/playwear and then something like you have pictured. Or if I was just using the stroller, I put a nice blanket in the bassinette.
I think what you have is fine-- but don't overbundle! I was told it's better that they are a touch cold-- rather than too warm.
You can also use the rain cover on the stroller to block out the wind-- that also keeps in heat as well.

If you unsnap the bottom you can resnap it a different way and it turns into legs.

Re: Moms of Jan/Feb babies.
My babies were born Dec. 30, I never used anything like that for them. I dressed them in layers- usually a long sleeved onesie and a fleece outfit. I always put a hat on them, Then I used the posh pouch over the carrier. If it was really cold, I put a blanket over the handle of the carrier to shield them from the wind and cold.
They were always nice and toasty warm.
