Moms of newborns - does baby sleep with a light?

Do you use a night light or keep a light on a dimmer or anything so that when you go to change/feed him/her you can see what you are doing? I'd love recommendations.

Re: Moms of newborns - does baby sleep with a light?

I have a nightlight in the room- DD is in a bassinet in our room. We also have our ceiling fan light on super low. It doesn't seem to bother her. The light is only on when she cries to be fed/changed so she's awake anyway. Immediately after, she falls right back asleep; light or no light.. GL Chat Icon

Have a nightlight in there so I don't have to turn on the light.

DS has a ceiling fan w/ a light, a lamp w/ a 3 way bulb and the turtle star. when he's sleeping the turtle star is on and when i change and feed him during the night or early morning i put the lamp on the lowest setting. all other times the ceiling light is on.

We just moved DS into his crib. We have a nightlight in there with him.

We have a nightlight in there in case we have to go in the middle of the night to give DS a binkie or something

DS is still in the bassinet in our room and we have a nitelite. although DH complains that is too bright and wants to find something else a little more dim.

ETA: we have a lamp in DSs room that I would use late at nite if i were changing him there or rocking him back to sleep in there.

That's what we've been doing.

We do not sleep with any lights on. When DD gets up for a bottle I put our bathroom light on and it gives our room some light.

I keep DS's room dark. I leave the hall light on at night so when I go in to BF him I just leave the door open. If he happens to need a diaper change in the middle of the night, there is a very dim lamp to use next to his changer.

We have a 13 inch tv in DS's room that I leave on at night. It is on mute. It is just light enough in there to see what is going on and so I don't trip on something...

Same. It's dim and never bothered him. He's a year now.
