Chat Icon Chat Icon No energy left every day to clean them up, and I have a small house. We're frequently stepping over stuff here...but that's how DD became so agile Chat Icon

Do you pick up/clean up all the toys everynight?
QUOTE]

Yes and they all have to be in their place with all the pieces. DH hates me for this but I can't stand the thought of letting it just stay with the toys out.

I have issues.

All of DD's toys are put away every night. But she's not home all day, so she doesn't really get the opportunity to take out every toy. So it never really gets out of hand.

Re: Moms of Toddlers..toy related

Yeah....If we had a playroom , maybe not.... but since its all in the living room for the most part we do....We clean up after each activity usually though , things like the cars and trains always...at least in their "spot" ...though not always neatly.

Dh does toy cleaning every night where he just picks up anything on the floors and thank god for the most part Noah cleans up when asked. If his trains are all over the living room, And he starts moving away from them, I will say, put the trains away before you play with the cars and he will . Took us a few weeks of repitition to get that point across but it was worth it.

Re: Moms of Toddlers..toy related

DS cleans up most of his toys before he goes to sleep. I usually only have to pick up a truck, book, etc. It is usually a small toy that he was playing with before bedtime.

No, I have no energy left after DS is asleep. I clean every morning.

Cannot wait until our playroom is done. We are getting the ikea storage units.

I just wanted to say that I just cleaned up a bizillion carsChat Icon

Its hard b/c of the way he plays, he is into a lot "pretend play" with the cars, he sets them up all over the house and seems to have different "story lines" for them...he doesn't really "stop" playing with any of them

Re: Moms of Toddlers..toy related

Yes. If not, I would not be able to function. DH and I have an agreement that HE cleans them up before he goes to work (he's working nights now and is home alone a while before work).

I have recently started getting Troy into the habit of putting away a toy before starting to plat with a new one. it's a work in progress.

Re: Moms of Toddlers..toy related

Yes, we pick them up with DS. We do it before "exercise time." I.e. stretching, jumping jacks, sitting on daddy while he does push ups, and running around the house.

Yes I clean them up everyday. We have a designated section in the living room and I have them all in order every night. Our house is too small to leave them out all the time.

Re: Moms of Toddlers..toy related

We do, but his toys are ALL in the living room bc his room is tiny and we dont have a separate play space, so it makes me twitch to have to look at it. Plus if I have to pee in the middle of the night, Id break my ankle.

I swear, everyday we build 3 Thomas tracks with ALL his Thomas trains out and put them away everynight.

Once of us puts DS to bed, bath, PJs Book and the other cleans up. We alternate.

I clean up the toys in the living room every night, keeps me sane. Otherwise I would never relax. The rest of the house I don't care so much about, but the living room. Yes.

Me TOO!!!! Their toys are downstairs in the play room and every night, all toys are placed back on the shelfs and EVERYTHING is off the floor. I can't stand a mess..I can't sleep if I know there is a mess in my house.
