Moms of walkers
How the hell are you keeping those walking shoes clean???
I feel like a psycho but Im literally walking around with baby wipes cleaning them all day long...
I know they are gonna get dirty- but Im not ready for them to be dirty just yet...
Whose bright idea was to give a baby white shoes anyway?

Re: Moms of walkers
At stride rite they had tons of shoes that were considered "walkers" and I actually don't think I saw plain white ones.
I thought the white ones were hard soled and that you were supposed to have flexible soled shoes for new walkers.
I have my eyes on a brown pair of mary-jane type shoes for when we get her the first pair so hopefully they won't be hard to keep clean!

Re: Moms of walkers
These were specifically 1st time walkers...they balance the child, and give ankle support...
They did have them in brown- but how could I not get the traditional white for his 1st pair...????
The had ALOT more options for girls....
and I went to a Boutique type place.. that carried stride rite- but had WAY more than stride rite did...
I HIGHLY rec'd them!- "Joseph's Shoes" in Mt.SInai Image Attachment(s):

Re: Moms of walkers
You just give up! Seriously, once they start walking, that's it. I think I read you were super clean anyhow (which I use to be with my first too) and then my second came along.

I also got white for his 1st "walking" shoe. I just really wanted to get the traditional white shoe, Stride Rite had lots of other options but I figured with him growing out of shoes every 3 months or less, I will have tons of chances to get funkier ones. (and boy have I )
To answer your cleaning question. He really didn't wear them too much before his 1 year pics, then I didn't care if they got dirty. The toes are going to get scraped up from crawling still, so even of they are clean I thought they looked trashed anyway and gave up! They sell a white show polish that I never bought... like Barbara mentioned I used the Magic Eraser a few times, but really he didn't wear them much in the house. They ended up looking very loved!

Re: Moms of walkers
I never used shoes in the house, but I think I would be opposed to shoe polish, my DS has put his shoes in his mouth many times!
I think taking them off inside will help you keeping them clean and him with his foot development! What about buying a 2nd pair for raining/muddy days?

Re: Moms of walkers
I've heard the magic eraser too.
We just bought DSs first pair of walking shoes from Stride Rite and they were a pair of sneakers.

I could have written this. My DS will be proud of those scuff marks one day.
