Moms of younger girls re: summer clothes
How do you plan (or did you, for the BTDT moms) on dressing your little girl for summer? I was just going through the stuff I have for her, and I have no shorts. Mostly one-piece creepers, dresses (casual mostly) and some capris, etc. I haven't seen any shorts I love.
DD will be 1 in June and most likely walking by then, so will I really need shorts?

Re: Moms of younger girls re: summer clothes
I have dresses, capris, shorts, and those skirts with the built in diaper cover. I have a feeling it is going to be a hot summer - so I don't want to dress her too warmly.
My issue for the moment is she was growing so fast that people gave us a lot of 18 month summer clothes and I bought some 12 month clothing - but she has slowed down a lot and has no 9 month summer clothes which is the size she is in now (in fact her 3-6 month jeans still fit) - and her 12 month clothes are huge on her - I put a top and capris on her today and the pants literally FELL off her - so I think I might have to go out and buy a very small selection of either smaller 12 month or some 9 month clothes.

Mostly dresses, which I'm fine with! They are so cute!

Our daughters sound very similar. DD will be 10 months next week and is still in 6-9 months Carters/6-12 months Gap, etc. Her 9-12 months clothes are huge on her too. Thankfully I have a good assortment of stuff in 6-9 and even 9-12 months, but I bought some adorable summer dresses in 12-18 months (one possible b-day dress too) and I'm afraid they'll be too huge on her. Most of the summer clothes I have for her as of now are 9-12 months b/c she does run on the smaller size-- I'm sure she'll have a growth spurt and nothing will fit her by June and I won't be able to find summer clothes anywhere

Re: Moms of younger girls re: summer clothes
We have some sundresses and onesies to match some shorts and skirts. I hate dressing her in dresses though- they ride up whenever I hold her and when she's crawling around..
I guess when she's walking it will be different.

Re: Moms of younger girls re: summer clothes
Last summer, DD was not walking. She was sitting by herself, rolling so I found it hard to put her in dresses because it's hard to crawl in a dress She wore 1 piece rompers, onezie with shorts, capri's etc. Occassionally, I put her in a dress.
This summer, she is almost 2, so at daycare it will be short/shirts, but on the weekends, I'm sure it will be dresses, because I love how they look
