Moms that have DH’s with way tooooooo much nervous energy, I need your help for delivery
I had to make a visit to L & D because of some minor complications last week. As much as I love DH, he drove me nuts. He meant well and tried so hard but annoyed the hell out of me. The nurse even said to be happy I have such a great husband, but to find things to occupy him once I go into labor because he has way to much nervous energy bottled up. He was like a kid who could not sit still. What can I get him to help keep him occupied when I do go into labor so he doesn’t drive me nuts again?

Can you give him a task that he can focus on?
- Like take the photos - Help you with the breathing if you go natural

agreed - we should chat b/c I have the same type of DH!
ask him to be in charge of calling all of your family/friends
take photos/video
if you don't want him touching/kissing you while you are in labor tell him right away! it was driving me nuts when my DH was lightly kissing my forehead as I wanted to puke while in labor!
tell him to go to the hospital store and get all of the newspapers for that day so you can keep it as a memento - then he can also read them !

Good idea with the newspapers. Maybe I can send him to NJ to pick those up too. I actually asked the nurse to find some projects for him the other day. I have no idea how long I will be in labor so I need to have hours of back up material. My mom suggested some handheld video games.

-Get some puzzle books, if he reads, maybe a good book for him. -Have him write a letter to the baby...kind of a "how excited I am to meet you, what it feels like waiting for you to be born letter."
DH and I just watched bad daytime tv.
Hope it wasn't too serious and that you are feeling better

I kept sending my DH out on little tasks!! I asked him to get me the paper, then about an hour later I asked him for magazines (meanwhile, I couldn't read them! lol but it got me some alone time)
I also kept telling him he should go out to the lobby and update everybody.

I'm with you there...my DH gets very antsy and figgidy while waiting. When I was in L&D once, he drove us all nuts. We sent him for walks, told him to go eat, whatever we could think of. He kept asking the nurse questions and everytime he wasn't looking, I was apologizing
Does he like Sudoku or anything? That does keep my DH busy sometimes for a little while. The paper, a book, all these things work.
