Moms that walk or run with DC daily (or 3x a week plus)

How do you manage to fit it in? Do you go out in the morning, midday or afternoon? My day is pretty full for the most part, and I'm trying to figure out the best time to go. It always seems the be meal time or nap time, or we have to run errands. I REALLY trying here! I want to do the couch to 5K but I'm only managing to get out once a week to do it! Help please!!!

I have an older one in school and and we walk home because we are 1/2 mile from school. I normally leave the house at 2 so I can walk/run and be at the school by 3 pm. baby is normally napping the hole time. When is his nap time? Can you go out when he naps? I also work out during the morning once DS takes a nap. It's easier when he's asleep because he's so demanding.

When I ran with the jogger, I usually shot for either first thing in the morning (8:00ish), or right after breakfast (9:30ish). More often than not, it ended up being after breakfast. If we go then, that is also her nap time, and she will usually just sleep in the stroller. If for some reason she doesn't sleep, I just put her down for a nap when we get home.

I run with them after dinner but dinner is like at 4 o'clock around here!Chat Icon once they have napped and eaten they are more likely to sit back and not complain or whine while in the jogger.
i would rather do it in the AM but i work and even so, there is too much to be done in the morning so it never happens!

ETA: we usually run to someplace fun like the park or my moms house. then we run back so i usually do like 3 miles at the most together. it's hard pushing that thing so the break is welcome before heading back!

I time my walks during my DC's naptime.

Plop them both in the double stroller and I can get anywhere from at least an hour to 2 hours from both of them.

I have been really trying lately too. It is hard some days! Normally I will do the morning routine and put him down for his nap and get myself and everything else ready while he sleeps. As soon as he wakes up I nurse him and we are out of the door. The crappy weather also puts a kink in things so hopefully soon it will be nicer more consistently.

I would love to go for a walk on Friday if you want. I will wear my sneakers just in case. Chat Icon

I go at like 8am. I put my son in the stroller and walk ..I go about 2 miles..my DH goes to work late everyday so he is home with DD..it is really the only time i can go because once DH goes to work I'm on my own all day and night..once the weather gets nicer I will take DD and DS plop, them in the stroller and just go.

That sounds good, I think it's supposed to be nice. We have a beach right down the street by my house so we can walk there and play on the playground. Chat Icon

I joined the gym. They have daycare from 9-12. It is the only way I can do it. I tried using out treadmill but it was too annoying worrying that he'd wake up while im on it.

I go everyday around 1030 after his nap

I go out after DS nap. I try to do at least 1 2 hour walks a week, and then 3 other 1 hour walks the rest of the week. It is hard with this weather, but I just put the rain cover on DS and a rain coat on me and go. It is hard to drag myself out on days like yesterday.

I dont do it daily but I could if I was motivated enough. I would go after DDs first nap. Wake up, nurse, eat a quick meal (like a yogurt with fruit) and then out the door. Sometimes I can skip the meal and have her snack in the stroller.

I have been walking lately with the kids right after I get home from work (around 5-5:15 PM). I would love to try and get out earlier but that isn't possible. I find that if I tell my 2 1/2 year old what will happen (first we walk twice around the park and then we can play at the playground for a little while) he is more relaxed and doesn't complain.

DD and I go out mid-afternoon, on any day over 50 degrees and not raining. We walk for about 20-30 minutes or until she falls asleep. (She has some napping issues, but will conk out in the stroller). I feed her first, then change her, bundle her up, and go!

Eta: good luck on your 5K!!

We try to go out during naps. or after dinner. honestly i dont get out as much as i'd like to. i've been blaming it on the crappy weather and i'm hoping that now that it's getting nicer out that we make it out more often.

Re: Moms that walk or run with DC daily (or 3x a week plus)

I am in the middle of the c25k.

It's going slower than hoped due to weather. I don't have a treadmill.

We go after dinner. I work so we get home around 5, I feed my DD and once she's done we go.

This works best for me. On the weekends I will take her out after breakfast. My DD loves being in the stroller so she just relaxes and sometimes naps.

Good luck! It's a great program!!

Now that it's light out later, DH and I go after dinner around 7/7:30. DD is full and relaxed at that time so she's okay just hanging out in the stroller for 1/2 hour. Then we do sit-ups, squats, push-ups, etc or a crossfit workout once DD is in bed.

not doing it now b/c I'm pregnant, but I would put my 2 in the double stroller after work (~4) to run. I would actually have to bribe my older one that we would go by his BFFs house or I would take them to the park at the end of the run.
