Moms who are teachers-daycare question
I am just wondering what your situations are for the summer. Does your daycare make your kids come in the summer or do you have to pay for certain weeks to reserve your spot? Please let me know.
Thanks!

Re: Moms who are teachers-daycare question
We only looked at daycare centers with a 10-month option before DD was born & found quite a few. We do not pay for July & August, but we put a $100 deposit down to save her spot for September. September tuition is due the first day back.

My daughter will be home for the summer. We just have to put down a deposit to save her spot for September.

Re: Moms who are teachers-daycare question
I looked at both.
We only wanted a non-homebased center. The 10 month option was only presented to us at one of our choices. It is a branch of a major chain. They offer it because over 40 of their parents are teachers.
To be honest, there were other criteria that weighed more heavily on my decision. I wanted a center but not one with over 100 children which is what my second choice had.
During the summers, I am planning on sending them a couple of hours a few days a week. I also have a handicapped father who is also part of my responsibility so while they are in daycare I'll be taking him to docs, running errands, etc. I have several friends that say the transition back in Sept is rough on the kids and they misss their friends during the summer.

Re: Moms who are teachers-daycare question
We will pay for 2 of the five days a week with the option to bring ds. For my DS, it's better to send him at least 1 or 2 a week so he doesn't totally fall out to the routine and forget everyone.
