Moms who had a "slow leak" when their water broke...
how did you know that's what it was? like did it soak through your pants or did you just feel damp all the time?

Re: Moms who had a "slow leak" when their water broke...
I was told I had a slow leak, but I never knew. TMI, but sometimes when I was peeing, it felt like it kept going, but I attributed that to late PG incontinence. I only found out when I had a sono on my due date, and had NO water left. I was induced immediately. I never soaked through my pants. The last couple days when I found out later i had no water, I felt very little movement from DS.

Yeah that's kind of what I am worried about... TMI but I feel damp constantly, like my PJs were damp this morning and my pants are now (although I am having a hard time not attributing that to swamp azz from this heat ). It's been like this for at least a week. But everyone always seems to say they thought they were just losing bladder control and it's not like I feel like I'm peeing myself.

Re: Moms who had a "slow leak" when their water broke...
I had a "slow leak" but it started about an hour after my real contractions started so I "knew" I was in labor.
I labored at home for about 5 hours before going to the hospital and I just kept leaking fluid. TMI - but it felt like I kept peeing myself Sometimes it wasn't too much, but after a while, it would be a lot and I needed to change the pad and underwear. I wasn't really prepared for it!

I felt small gushes/leaks. It did not feel like I was pee-ing myself.

Re: Moms who had a "slow leak" when their water broke...
I had a slow leak when I had DS.
I was 5 days late and I got up to go to the bathroom and when I stood up, I felt a little leakage. It was just a tiny amount. I assumed I peed a little because I had to go to the bathroom bad.
I went back to bed and got up again a couple of hours later to go to the bathroom and the same thing happened when I stood up. I thought there was no way I peed myself again since I didn't have to go to the bathroom again.
I called my OB/GYN when they opened and since I was 5 days late they had me go in that afternoon to test the fluid to see if it was amniotic fluid.
When I got to the office, they couldn't tell from the fluid, but found I was having contractions.
If unsure, I say call your doctor. They can always bring you in to test the fluid.

Re: Moms who had a "slow leak" when their water broke...
My slow leak definitely felt different than dampness, it was like tiny gushes but not a constant flow. When it broke for real it was big gushes.

Re: Moms who had a "slow leak" when their water broke...
They say that if you aren't sure if your water broke or you're just leaking pee that you should smell it (kinda gross, but does the trick). Urine (esp. from a preggo!) has a distinct odor- if there is no odor, it's most likely your water breaking! GL!!

Re: Moms who had a "slow leak" when their water broke...
for me it felt like I peed myself when laughing... not a lot but a little ya know.
It was warm and very very low pressure. Like I was 'leaking' hahaha
It would stop then start again. At first I thought I just needed to wee some more but nothing came out. Then I went to lay back down and I felt it again.
Not enough to soak through the bed just wet my undies a little bit barely.
Then I went to the hospital sitting on a towel. About an hour into the stay I really started to leak heavily. After the majority of the leaking was done I had contractions start. While I was leaking I was contanstly having to go to the bathroom.. (danged IV)

Re: Moms who had a "slow leak" when their water broke...
I felt almost like I had to pee. I would go pee and then as I stood up it would keep dripping down my leg ( I wa sin labor already, so I assumed it was soemthing that happened).
I would sit down and when I got up a small ( tsp amount) would come out...enough that I felt it. And think I was peeing myself, thought my bladder was irritated.
IT ended up being my water leaking.

Re: Moms who had a "slow leak" when their water broke...
I had a low leak with DS. It felt like I was damp. I went to the bathroom, completely dried myself off and then sat on a leather chair. I put some paper towels down and got up and they were wet.

Re: Moms who had a "slow leak" when their water broke...
I noticed my water broke when I was puttering the house after a shower and I was wearing a robe. I felt a little trickle down my leg-- too little for pee, too much for anything else . I put on a pad and the pad wasn't wet once I got the hospital and they tested it.
Who knows what it would have been if I didn't go right away.. I was 5 days late and was headed there anyway for a check up and a NST.

Re: Moms who had a "slow leak" when their water broke...
My water only starting leaking when my contractions started so I knew I was in labor. I noticed that I was leaking because my underwear kept getting wet and I knew I was not peeing. Before I left to go to the hospital I had tried to lay down and sleep, but after an hour or so I stood up and there was a gush. I thought it was my water breaking, but it wasn't...it was just the leak. My OB eventually broke my water when I was 8cm.

Re: Moms who had a "slow leak" when their water broke...
My OBGYN swears I wasn't leaking, but my panties felt damp all the time, and then I had to be induced because I had low fluid
