Moms who had V Births....
If you tore or were cut, how long did it take you to heal?
ETA: The reason I ask is because things feel funny down there- like its not healing properly. Not sure if I should call the Dr or not.

Re: Moms who had V Births....
It seemed like forever and then one day the stitches were just gone. I agree with the PP, close to 2 months.

Re: Moms who had V Births....
It felt ok after 2 weeks but definitely not normal till around 2 months...the scar area was very very sensitive for a long time.
At my 6 week appointment i was told it healed beautifully but it still needed more time to feel normal

Re: Moms who had V Births....
About 3-4 weeks. Every time I coughed I was convinced I blew a stitch.
Keep doing the sitz baths. They're very helpful.

Re: Moms who had V Births....
I had an episiotomy and I feel pretty healed now, 10 days pp...just still sore to wipe. I looked down there too w/a mirror and it actually looks pretty normal.

Re: Moms who had V Births....
Thanks everyone!
Its not even so much that I am uncomfortable. I'm not sore at all. TMI- but I was feeling around to see if my stitches were gone, and things just feel out of place. It even feels like there is a hole there that shouldn't be there.

Re: Moms who had V Births....
Mine took a couple of months to heal and it still tingled for awhile after. I would notice it more when I wiped after going to the bathroom. Now 5 months PP, I think everything is back to normal. FM if you have any more questions.

Re: Moms who had V Births....
At least a full month before I felt mostly normal again.
At 2 months I was probably back to 100%.

Same here...by 3 weeks the bleeding had stopped and any tightness by the stitches was gone. By 6 weeks I was all healed and could barely remember what it had all felt like.

I had a similar experience. But, I agree w/Barb...sitz baths are THE best healer. Keep doing them, even if you think they aren't helping...they probably are!
