Re: moms who have/had newborns sleeping in their room
Rylan was about 13-14lbs when I switched to the crib. The bassinet only went up to 15 so I wanted to switch before he hit that weight in case there were any issues with the transition.

Re: moms who have/had newborns sleeping in their room
We moved DD to her crib at 4 months, she had been sleeping in a bassinet in our room. She was getting to big for it.

My DS was 3.5 mos. and my DD 4 mos. when we moved them to their cribs. Both of the transitions were pretty smooth.

DS was 3 months because he out grew the bassinet.
DD may be with us longer since she was a preemie and at 2 months is now the size of a newborn.
I guess my "rule of thumb" is, when they outgrow the bassinet.
