Moms with anxiety issues...(especially Welbutrin/Zoloft users)please come in...
I am a very regular poster but a little embarrassed about this so im hiding... I have an almost 1 year old an currently trying for our 2nd. Ever since i had DD last year my hormones are all over the place and have a short line of patience an get frustrated very easily. My doc put me on Welbutrin and Zoloft, they call it Weloft and it seems to work in keeping me clalm an helping me sit back an control my emotions...anyway we are TTC #2 and i know Zoloft isn't something to take...what were you on while TTC...my doc wants me to go to some chinese herbel doctor and won't change my script....so im curious what you were switched to and if it worked for you....

This is absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about. I took ativan when needed for anxiety before TTC. When I was TTC, my doc told me to just try not to take it, and once preggo, I just stopped taking it and I was fine. HOWEVER, I had a very mild case, and only took it occasionally.
My close friend was on zoloft throughout her pregnancy, just on a much lower dose. Her dr. thought the benefits greatly outweighed the risks for her. Her 2.5 year old daughter is just fine! Good luck, and do not be embarassed

Did you talk to your Primary or your OB?
I know a lot of people that took some sort of anxiety medication while pregnant but they lowered their dose.
I would talk to your OB if you haven't already

Nothing to be embarrassed about at all!!!!
When I was pregnant I took the same thing I have taken off and on for over 10 years...paxil. I have tried the other stuff and it didnt work. I came off of it for most of the 1st trimester but by week 10 my anxiety is through the roof so I go on a low dose of 10 mg. to take off the edge. Normally after a few weeks I can come back off of it because for some reason I have no anxiety during the 2nd trimester. I did the same thing with both my boys and both of them are perfectly healthy!
IMO, I would not do anything with chinese herbal medicines. I would speak to your OB and go from there.

Re: Moms with anxiety issues...(especially Welbutrin/Zoloft users)please come in...
I definitely have bouts of anxiety but it has gotten so much better in the past couple of years. I contribute a big part of the reason to reading this book The Power of Now It has made me think in a different way and I am focusing more on the present moment rather than worrying about the past or future. I know it might sound hokey but I am just throwing it out there, it has helped me tremendously!!
I would still go to your Dr's, etc and do whatever you need to do but this book has helped me learn to think in a different way and I have become so much more relaxed.
Ok, that's all
Hope you feel better soon!
