Moms with mini-vans......

We are most likely going thursday to buy our new minivan. DH is kind of set on the Quest (we have not seen it yet in person) because they are offering a rebate on the '09's.

I kind of really like the way the Odyssey looks inside (outside I think they're all ugly! Chat Icon ) but again, only from pictures on the websites.

Which ones did you see and what do you like better. We probably are only going to see those 2. Do you think there are any others we should check out before making a decision?

Town and Country and the VW Routon (the routon is chrysler TC except for VW suspension and interior cloth/leather)

PS-i read something that Nissan is stopping production of the Quest after the 09' hence the huge rebate. I also had a hard time finding a nissan dealership(i'm in ct though) that had stock of the quest.

I LOVE the town and country on the outside. BUT my f-i-l has my husband brainwashed about buying American cars. I dont get it - something about the resale or trade in value Chat Icon

We ended up w/ the Town & Country 2009 also & LOVE it. It is a lifetime warranty & had the best features & was reasonable (in comparison). It has the DVD player built in; satellite radio; heated seats; comfortable, wide seats; the rearview camera when you back up; the stow & go seats (that are very easy to get in/out) & a lot of space. We love it. We checked out the VW minivan too but were told it is made by Chrysler & it was a lot narrower.

IMO it's going to be like that with any van right now..The residual value on the routon was HORRIBLE too, hence the reason i don't have one. I was not about the pay 450 a month for a van i have to buy, i coudn't lease it, i was getting a 10K rebate on it too. Good thing about VW is that they have a maintenance plan that included, you don't pay for anything.
The routan was beautiful though, i was getting hte top of the line one. But i wanted to lease, i always lease so i passed on it..plus DH refused to drive it, but he won't drive my murano now! I kinda regret it..

Re: Moms with mini-vans......

We have the Toyota Sienna. I love it! I personally don't like the outside or inside look of the Odyssey myself. I knew someone who had the Quest and HATED it. They said it's made so poorly, inside and out. All the inside parts would break or not work properly. They also got it because of all the rebates and discounts. They traded it back in less than a year later.

I also checked out the Town and Country, I know people who have them and like them. I don't though. I drove them before and didn't like the way it handles. It felt smaller inside, and the safety isn't as good as the Sienna or Odyssey. Also, I believe the second row windows don't open. I love being able to open the second row windows. Yes, they do have a lot more "fun toys" inside, but they're not that important to us.

All I can say is that I never thought I'd own a minivan. And now that I have one, I absolutely love it. Chat Icon

We have the Odyssey & love it. We looked at the toyota sienna too, but liked the feel of the Odyssey better (& liked the way it drove better too -- it seemed to have more power/pick-up) and had a really great experience with the honda dealer. We bought ours at this time last year and got an awesome deal on a leftover '08 they were trying to get rid of. We paid below blue book value. We didn't look at the Quest at all. Just the Toyota & Honda.

We have the same and couldn't live without it.
