Moms with Nannies - Question

I think we're going to need one so I need to draft an employment listing but don't know what it should say. I'm looking for some ideas. If you posted an ad could you please share with me how you worded it? Thanks. I'm afraid I'll leave something important out or say too much.

Re: Moms with Nannies - Question

I only needed one p/t and posted this on Craigslist...

"P/T Childcare needed in my homeLooking for someone to provide p/t childcare in my home for my 3 month old. Hours are Mon, Wed 8:30-5 and Thurs 8:30-4:30. $10.00 per hour with paid holidays, vacation and sick time. Overtime may be available. Must be comfortable with dogs. Responsibilities are only to provide care and entertainment to my child. NO HOUSEWORK OR COOKING. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH INFANTS. Please send your resume and references."

I got a bunch of responses but only 3 I looked in to. I did find someone although she hasn't started yet. You can run a background check on your own.

Re: Moms with Nannies - Question

We found our awesome nanny through my sister's nanny. She went to California for a few months, and we posted on Craig's List. The nanny we hired seemed great, but turned out to be BEYOND a disaster! I think that the best way to find a nanny is either through an agency (very expensive) or through other nannies. Go to the park, library, etcl and when you see a nanny who impresses you, ask her if she can recommend someone. Also, ask friends and relatives.

To answer your question: We were VERY specific in our ad:
Nanny to work full time, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Must be expreienced and want to work with an infant and a preschooler. Must be dog friendly and have a valid, clean driver's license. Duties include playtime, playdates, light housekeeping (wiping down counters, vacuuming kids' rooms and den), making children's meals and doing children's laundry. Valid, checkable references necessary. We DO NOT allow our children to watch t.v. during the day, so our nanny must be creative and dynamic.
(Not exactly what we said, but you get the idea....)
