Moms with newborn girls
I just gave DD another sponge bath (she's 12 days old) and as I was washing "her area", I noticed a lot of white "stuff" in there. I did my best to wash it out with the washcloth, but some of it wasn't coming off too well. Is this normal at this age? Should I be worried about some sort of infection??

Our Ped told us to not wipe it off, its there to protect them.

very normal. Don't wipe to hard, just leave it if it doesn't come off.
You might even notice that DD might bleed a little period like, all very normal.
If the ped didn't mention all this to me before hand, I would of freaked out.

I believe it's the vernix(sp?) that they are covered with when they are born. It's protection. You may also notice CM at some point too. Perfectly normal.

It's normal.
You can wipe in there lightly to clean up any poop or that may have gotten in there but don't try to get it all "clean". It's normal discharge!
