Monitor question for those with 2 bedrooms that need monitoring

We put the monitor we have (Graco's digital audio) in baby #2's room b/c we only have one. I want one back in DD #1's room. I'm thinking of getting the same monitor - it's a small house and can't see spending the money right now on a video monitor. My question is how will the receivers pick up the correct bases? Hope that makes sense... basically I'm concerned they'll interfere with each other. My FIL suggested you put them on different channels... would that work? Would it be best to get a different brand? TIA!

If you're happy with the monitor you have, you can definitely get the same one for the 2nd bedroom. Different channels will prevent the two monitors from overlapping. Also, if you wanted, you could just carry one receiver with you, and just manually switch channels back and forth to check on both of them. At night, though, it's nice having the two separate receivers.

See that's the thing... the Graco digital that we have has the channel changer on the base - not the receivers... I wish it was on the receivers - would make it easier than carrying 2 receivers.

I had 2 of the same audio monitor each set to a different channel. I had one set of monitors in my bedroom and the other in the den. Our house is small enough that if I wasn't in one of those rooms I'd still be able to hear either the monitor or the kids themselves, so I never had to carry 2 monitors.
