Monitors and 2+ kids in separate bedrooms
The arrival of will coincide with us moving to a house from our 2br apartment. I honestly haven't used a monitor for DS since he was about 2-3 mos old b/c our rooms were right next door to one another and I slept much better without it on next to me.
In the house all of the br's are on the 2nd floor but ours is as far from each of theirs as you can get. Is there such a thing as a dual monitor or do I need to have 2 separate monitors, one for each child's room? What have BTDT's done?
TIA
ETA: DS will be just shy of 19 mos when arrives but he will also be moving to a toddler bed about a month before (when we move).
ETA: Looking for advice on audio-only monitor.

Re: Monitors and 2+ kids in separate bedrooms
I forget the name of the monitor ...I have it too. Something like the handheld summer...something or other. I know a lot of people on here have it. There is an A setting or a B setting that you can use.
One of my close friends has two kids and she uses A for one child and B for the other. She must have an extra piece that she sets up in one of the rooms since it only comes with one.
Or maybe some of them come with 2 of the pieces that actually watch the baby. Sorry that I am rambling. I probably should have thought this through first. Anyway...she has the handheld piece and she switches it back and forth between A and B to see both kids.

I have that one - Summer handheld. You buy a separate camera for the additional room (the monitor is $200 and the additional camera is $80). I still wonder if I'd get an additional audio for one of their rooms since you can only tune into one at a time.

Re: Monitors and 2+ kids in separate bedrooms
We have two separate monitors, one for each DC. That way, we can see at a glance which monitor is lighting up in the middle of the night. It also opens up your options quite a bit as far as purchasing.

Re: Monitors and 2+ kids in separate bedrooms
We got one from BBB that automatically switches between the 2 rooms at 8 second intervals. It is audio only.

We have the Summer handheld also. We have one in each room plus 2 monitors in our bedroom one on each side of the bed. It seems to be working out good for us.

It was the Secure Sounds™ Digital Multi-Room Monitor by Summer Infant but I don't see it on the website anymore .

I intentionally bought a 900MHz, and whatever frequency the older ones were. They also have 2.4GHz frequency monitors. If you have two totally different frequencies, they can't interfere with each other.

I don't think I could use one of those.... All you need is one night of one DC crying because they're "not tired", and the other just singing to themselves..... alternating every 8 seconds.....
