Monogram or Name on Backpack

Hi everyone! I am ordering a backpack for my son for the fall and I want to personalize it. I wanted to put his name on it but now I am thinking a Monogram or his intials might be better. What do you think?

I am only thinking about a monogram because of all of the fears about having kid's names so "out there" for strangers.

Has anyone personalized with the first name?

If it's only for school I would probably put his first name since everyone is going to know hiw name anyway.

If it was a bag he would be bringing everywhere I would put initials.

I know plenty of people that put the first name. I personally feel even initials can give information. I grew up with my mom being super paranoid about any personalized things, so I am the wrong person to ask . . .

i'd only do the monogram. i'm paranoid. we don't buy shirts or hair clips with the girls' names on them either.

I would only monogram it - I wouldn't feel comfortable with a name on a backpack.

My DS's name is on his backpack but he goes to daycare which I drive him to and pick him up every day. He does not use it anywhere else. I just got my DD a new backpack for kindergarten from the Disney Store and they actually personalize it on the bottom back where it woul dbe on her back and the print is not too large like this:

Monogram. You may use that backpack later for a trip to a water park or something.

I dont like names on things. I think a stranger can then call them over and kids would think they might know them and go to them.
Im totally paranoid though.

I did a monogram with his initials.

I put DD's name on the inside of her backpack... I don't like the idea that she could have it on..with her name exposed and someone could call her by name, she's only 3 and she'd probably go.. so I used a fabric pen and put her name along the bottom of the backpack by her bum.

Definitely don't put his name on it. You never know when you might grab the bag for an outing other than daycare.... It's not worth the worries.

I'd just put his first initial only.

Im very very very over cautious with this and I'll only put initials. Heaven forbid its accidently used for something else or something catches a glimpse.
