Monsters?

Any tips or what worked for your little ones to combat those pesky monsters?

My 2.5 year old is freaked out day and night by random monsters.

I was thinking of getting her an empty spray bottle so she can spray them herself, but what have you done or heard that works?

My DD has a huge imagination!!

Help!

Thanks!
Signed,
Mommy Monster Patrol

Re: Monsters?

tell her you got her a magic flashlight and a monster spay bottle-and tell her they both make them melt.
You bought them in a special magazine.
They actually do sell them--so you can google it I am sure and show her.
When you tell her act verrrrrrrrry excited!

Re: Monsters?

My MIL suggested the spray thing. She used to use lysol (I think water idea is better, lol). Hailey speaks of them (thanks to Little Bear) but hasn't really gotten to the point of fear. Good luck!

Re: Monsters?

Spray bottle is a great idea. I know someone who used the Bath and Body sprays!!!

Whenever DS talks about monsters I ask him "who??? cookie monster???". I also remind him that Elmo is a monster. It kind of helps.

Mommy shoo's them away and tells them to MYOB.
(at bedtime I tell them to go to bed - when they hang around during the day I tell them to go home, or to go eat dinner - It works for her).

Daddy eats them. Chat Icon

Re: Monsters?

DD is 3 1/2... a couple of months ago she started having bad dreams about monsters. (think they had watched Monster's Inc. at school or something who knows)

So we started talking about how dreams can't hurt us, they aren't real....and then some how we started talking about Ghosts...like casper the friendly ghost and Otto the ghost from Hicks farms (who she loves...we have a picture of her and Otto)

Anywa I told her that if monsters come into her room at night that she could always call out to Otto and Casper and that they would come in and sit on her bed and scare all the bad monsters away.....and it worked!!!!!!!!!!
