Montauk -- UPDATE
DH, Baby (2 months), Puppy (10 month old Lab) and I want to go for a weekend in September, just one night tho.
Sooo....we have a timeshare at Gurneys (no dogs) and I've been to Mtk Manor (too far from beach) and the Yacht Club (ditto).
Can anyone recommend a hotel that is within walking distance of beach and/or town, allows dogs, and doesn't require 2 or 3 night minimum in Sept??
TIA!!!
UPDATE:: We reserved the Oceanview Motel -- and called last week to cancel, 10 days advance notice - and they say NO that cancellation has to be 30 DAYS IN ADVANCE!!!
I am fighting this now, and my cc company has put in a dispute, but BEWARE of this Motel!!

Re: Montauk --
If you go after Labor Day weekend I believe the Oceanside Beach Resort
will allow you to bring the dog and is right on the beach.
The only other place near the beach that allows dogs is
Hither House .
And I know the Crow's Nest allows dogs but that is up by the lighthouse, so nowhere near the beach.
If you want a listing of all the hotels...go to Montaukchamber.com and there is a listing of all the hotels/motels and what their policies are, with links to most.
Have a great time!!!!

Re: Montauk --
We stayed there when Joseph was a baby. He stayed in the PNP or on the bed with me. Rooms are a bit rundown (this is going back 5 years ago). Pool was fine.

This place is really dumpy... the rooms are VERY run down... but the location is great- nice and private... and the pool is fine....

Re: Montauk --
Hmm it is the only place that 1) will allow the dog, and 2) has rooms available for the weekend we want -- we need 2 rooms as mom is coming with us.
Ahh we'll just bring our own sheets, and stay out as much as possible - not too hard!!
Thanks ladies!
