Montreal or Quebec City
Has anyone been to either? Since it will only be a long weekend, would you choose one over the other?

Re: Montreal or Quebec City
I've only been to Montreal, so I can't compare the two, but I can tell you that after DH and I went there a few years ago, we actually seriously considered MOVING there because we loved it so much.
It has a very European feel to it...the architecture is absolutely stunning, the people are just lovely - everywhere we went, we were greeted with "Bonjour! Hello!" (so they know if you speak French or English with your response)
The food...man, I still think about the food! Great restaurants up there. And so much live music to listen to!
Quebec City is on our list of places to visit...though I've been fiening for a return trip to Montral for awhile now :)

Re: Montreal or Quebec City
I've been to both, a long time ago. We stayed in Montreal and I took a day trip to Quebec while my friends went shopping.
I felt that Montreal is a "younger" crowd, has more of an urban feel to it.
Quebec really has that old European feel to it, more so than Montreal.

Re: Montreal or Quebec City
I've been to both as well. Quebec City is beautiful, but Montreal has so much more to do. There is a pedestrian only area (I forget the name) filled with bars and restaurants where bands play outdoors in the summer. They also have a small (maybe two block) Chinatown where I had the best dumplings of my life there, lol! Lots of English type pubs there as well. Just a fun, lively city. You could go down to Old Montreal (where Notre Dame cathedral is). There are some really lovely family-owned B&Bs and initimate French bistros.
