Mopping floors..
How do you mop your floors? With a normal mop or a steamer?

Re: Mopping floors..
I have everything!
I have a mop that I will use for tile only with a mixture of water and bleach. If I dont use the mop, I will use the steamer. I alternate.
The wood floors........I have swiffers, wet jets and the Bona!

Re: Mopping floors..
I used to use the steam mop, but honestly felt like my tile floors were never really clean... Now I add a nice smelling pine sol mixed with water into the steam mop and finally feel like its doing something .... (ps: prob shouldnt do this but i really dont even like the steam mop so if its breaks, oh well!) Next thing I will get is a good ol mop and bucket...

Re: Mopping floors..
Mr. Clean makes a cleaner with Febreze in it that's dynamite. Smells so clean and makes the floors super clean. I throw a little in a bucket, add hot water and use a mop.

I was going to say..can you do that? If so, that would be great..because I feel the same way about the steam mop.

Re: Mopping floors..
We have a regular mop, a swiffer, and a Shark Steam Mop. The Shark mop doesn't get used everytime. We usually mop with the swiffer or regular mop once a week and then the Shark maybe once a month or every other month.

What Ive read is that you can add vinegar to it and that will clean better and take away the streaks... but OMG, the smell in the house was rancid

yep... I went around spraying the air freshener afterwards...
oh and 1 other tip since it happened to me a while back.... if the mop ever stops producing steam for any reason, it prob has a bit of lime/calcium deposits blocking the steam.... put a little CLR into it and keep pumping it through... make sure to do this on a crappy towel or something bc it will blow out tons of black particles that were all stuck in the mop... pretty gross... so i even did mine outside

Re: Mopping floors..
I bought the Libman mop that has that squirt container attached to it and use vinegar and hot water. My floors look great!

Re: Mopping floors..
What's a normal mop? Sponge mop? that's what I have for the tile & vinyl floors.
I use a microfiber mop on thr hard wood floors & a dust mop for under the bed, mostly.
