more bad news - UPDATE with Question
So i just got back from my water sono and dr K said i need to have another "D&C". he said he found too much scar tissue present in my uterus from my other surgeries. he also found a mass of some sort. Possibly a fibroid or polyp.
he wants me to have the surgery next thursday. he told me i cannot have an IUI this month either. I was supposed to start monitoring on friday morning.
I am so done with all the bad news. I keep hearing stay positive. I try. Then I go and get some more bad news. I am having a hard time with this
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just got a call saying i have to have the surgery at Mather Hospital and go for pre-surg testing there as well. I live an hour and a half away. The nurse said some of these are done in Melville and others at Mathers. Does anyone know why?
I just had pre testing done on June 20th fo rmy D&C. Do you think I have to have it done again? I mean for 1 vial of blood I have to travel all the way out there?? I got nowhere on the phone with this nurse.
UGHHHHHH!

Re: more bad news
I am so sorry. At least you will be able to move forward next month. You will only lose the month. I had a polyp removed. It wasn't bad at all. Hang in there.

On the other side, you don't want to move forward with the scar tissue not removed etc... So, its good that he took a look.
Set backs are not easy. We're here with you.

Re: more bad news
I'm really sorry. The whole thing is just frustrating. But you'll have a nice clean, fresh uterus for your IUI and more info from your bloodwork. Try to stay positive.

Re: more bad news
it seems like you take one step forward and two back right? So sorry, but at least after this you will have a clean bill and can move forward.
I know how it feels to wait.

I'm sorry for the setback but I think it would be best to start "fresh" for lack of a better word.
Good luck!!

Re: more bad news
I agree with all the others and just wanted to add this could be a cause of your miscarraiges(you were the one who posted baout that right?) if you have a lot of scar tissue in your uterus it could prevent proper implantation and placental growth

Probably because Mather is a hospital, I think LI-IVF is only doing ERs and ETs out of Melville. I would call again and try to get a different nurse - I never had any problems with the nurses, I live far from Mather too and had to head out there for something but they accomodated my request to get a few things done at that one time instead of making numerous trips. Just explain that you live far and see if they'll let you do bloods somewhere closer
Good luck!!

Re: more bad news - UPDATE with Question
do you know what the bloods are? I know they sent me there for my genetic testing but I think that's b/c that's where I was going to do my monitoring. Are they actually making you go to Mather or to LI-IVF in Port Jeff (which is in Mather I'm pretty sure, or next door- shows you how much I pay attention )

Re: more bad news - UPDATE with Question
Yeah, this type of surgery has to be performed in a hospital. I hear your pain about the driving. I live out east and everything I do is 45min-2 hours travel time. Find out what they need, maybe you can do it at a local lab.

I am so sorry!! But, as the other posters mentioned, you are going towards the right direction in getting your BFP! It's frustrating but at least you are getting answers.
