More Confused than Ever...
Hi Girls,
So hubby & I met with my current (now former) RE to discuss what happened and where to go next. He doesn't know what happened- he found the problem (LPD b/c of low progesterone) and he corrected it with Crinone 2x daily. So he's not sure why this happened and said the Crinone isn't a surefire bet and if we were to go it again it could be fine. But he said he really doesn't know where to go next- that all my blood came out normal. So I explained I want to go to Braverman for a 2nd opinion.. maybe its something autoimmune, etc. He basically told me that his schooling doesn't necessarily believe in that but he's hearing more about it. He said be careful with Braverman b/c he'll do like 30 vials of blood and he will find SOME sort of autoimmune issue with all of his patients. He said all humans have some sort of response to something even though its minimal but that he'll medicate me heavily for something. He suggests I go to a perinatologist instead, that they'll do similar blood work but be more discerning with it. I spoke to some family last night and they know Victor Klein in Great Neck and heard very good things. So now I'm unsure about Braverman; he's charging me $900 for a consult- and I see his advertisements everywhere (here on the boards, in my teacher union magazine).. so I find that a bit off-putting. Does anyone know anything about a perinatologist? I plan on calling this Victor character today and inquiring about my situation. Its just kind of scary and alarming when an RE shrugs and says he doesn't know what's going on. I had quite the sleepless night...

I believe that Dr. Kofinas is also a perinatologist and I've heard very good things about him on here too. I think that to spend so much $$ out of pocket you need to be 100% sure about it (because if it's $900 just for the consult, think about how much the treatment will be). I know it sucks (I myself think I'm having big issues handling all this emotionally) but I would be careful about spending so much money. If you have heard of other docs that take your insurance and WON'T cost so much out of pocket it's worth it to at least hear what they have to say. I know there are girls here who love Dr. B, but if you are unsure wait it out and exhaust other options.
