More not so great news with my friend
She has stopped bleeding but was having alot of cramping today- her apt. is thursday- but she was so panicked and upset- I told her to call her DR and see if they could take her in today-
After fighting with the receptionist- (she made a remark like- well did we even confirm your preg.? Ahhh- hearing and seeing a beating heart is confirmation to me- and since when are recp. Dr.'s) They squeezed her in...
Turns out her "pocket" has doubled its sized in less than a week- and she has been put on complete bedrest (only getting up to use the bathroom)
I guess I just being a paranoid friend- and Im not to happy from what Ive heard about her DR.'s- BUT one day its a mass- the next day its an unexplained pocket of blood- thats GROWING- they are looking further into it- or making sure its nothing else... just letting the thing grow- it just makes no sense to me...
Anyone- know anything about this.... Because the whole thing makes no sense

Sometimes those receptionists make me so mad. The should have more sensitivity. I hope everything is OK.

Its horrible but my SIL had this and there is nothing they can do. Either the problem will resolve itself(like happened to my SIL ) or she will miscarry. It was torture each appointment for my SIL- but then the news came that the blood pocket had resolved itself.
I hope it all turns out ok

Its horrible but my SIL had this and there is nothing they can do. Either the problem will resolve itself(like happened to my SIL ) or she will miscarry. It was torture each appointment for my SIL- but then the news came that the blood pocket had resolved itself.
I hope it all turns out ok
What causes this? what exactly is it??? Any info you could share would be greatly appreciated!

That sounds a lot like what I had at 8 wks preggo. My doctor diagnosed me as having a hematoma which was surrounding the placenta. A pocket of blood around the placenta. Basically they told me that you don't want the blood pocket to become bigger than the fetus and that is why they recommend bedrest. I was having bleeding also. The doctor put me on bedrest for a few days and luckily it resolved in its own. Many of the times they do resolve. I'm not sure if it is the same. I am 14 wks now and they say it is gone based on my current sono.  for your friend.

I have also heard that the blood pockets can just dissolve on their own.

They really don't know- when I tried looking this up for my SIL I couldn't find much. Just that blood forms behind the uterus and either the body reasorbs it or it worsens. They didn't have any answers for my SIL but bedrest and time. I wish I had more info to share
