Wow I guess people do not learn their lesson. I wonder what is going to happen with all the under 21's that were caught. There was atleast 10 this time around. That is what making me mad knowing they are on the road.
the person who killed my friend six years ago was under 21 and served, for killing one person and SERIOUSLY injuring another, (as well as speeding) he served about just shy of four months of a six month sentence.
i thought because he was under 21 that would make a big difference but apparently not -- the laws have gotten better since then and the limit has been lowered but still - what a disgrace. they have gotten much better in nassau so that is good for my brother's case -- as for suffolk, they are still lagging. 
That is disgusting. 4 months for killing someone??? I hope more people are tried for murder when they kill someone while driving drunk like they did with that guy who killed the little girl in the limo.

... fantastic idea with the pics. When I was living in Ohio they used to give people who had a dwi or dui special license plates (neon green with red text.) Why they were sometimes called "party plates" and I actually knew someone who thought it was an invasion of privacy it was really great and pretty effective. I wish NY would do the same!!!

His poor mother. She lost her DH last year I have to call my Dad first thing tomorrow to find out what happened. He is a really smart kid so unlike him. He spends every Thanksgiving with my family.
you dont think rationally when youre drunk, hence why he drank and drove. sucks he made such a poor decision, i hope no one was hurt

I think an actual device not allowing the car to start or similar system is the way to go.
A lot of people who are drunk overestimate themselves and their ability to drive.
So "humiliation" is not going to really stop them apparently. We still have people being arrested.
It's sad that people just don't think about the possibility of being arrested.
