Re: More Things to Scare PG Women
Why would you take codeine or any other drug while nursing anyway? Do the dr's really prescribe it to nursing mothers?

Yes they do for epiositomy pain. I took tylenol with codeine and motrin in the hospital for 3 days with DD and was sent home with it and I nursed.
I took Motrin 600 when I got home though for the pain.
That's scary, but sometimes I wonder about this research and these kind of articles.
ETA: How in the hell would you really know if you metabolize it quickly?!

Re: More Things to Scare PG Women
I am so annoyed!!!
I cannot tolerate Percocet so they gave me Motrin in the hospital... Motrin "800". AND they knew I was nursing.
Now, I don't get why those "studies" come out, yet there is a total disconnect with what the medical field is actually doing.
ETA: I did not take any Tylenol with Codein while PG. I guess I did not realize Motrin has codein. I am not an OTC kind of person. The strongest stuff I take (when in true pain!!) is Tylenol extra strength. So I am clueless.

There is no codeine in Motrin. Where did you get that idea?

Re: More Things to Scare PG Women
Call me crazy, but I just assumed that this would be common sense. My doctor just gave me Motrin which she said is just ibuprophen even in its high doses.
