Morning-Night Mixup
Any suggestions on how I can get Jiavana to sleep more at night and less during the day. She definitely has her days and nights confused. I try waking her up every 4 hours but I can't get her up. She is so sleepy that she falls back to sleep withiin seconds.

Personally, I don't think there's much you can do when they're that young. I Would try having her nap somewhere out in the livingroom or somewhere other than where she sleeps at night. We did this with Ava and it worked pretty well. But they really do just sleep all day in the beginning.

Rach is exactly right. My DD slept a lot during the day the first few weeks - almost the WHOLE day actually. thats just what newborns do. If she is up a lot at night though, dont let ner nap in her crib or bassinet - put her in a bouncy seat or swing to sleep. That way she understands that the crib is for night time sleeping. She will wake at night though because at this age they cant handle skipping feedings. good luck!! ~Dawn

Re: Morning-Night Mixup
I had this problem with Ali
What I did was, I tried everything to keep her up, yes she still slept alot, but would try waking her. I would dress and undress her. Really what I did was annoy the crap out of her. She was like this for 3 or 4 days and then all of a sudden she switched.
I couldn't take it - she was up for about 6 hours at night!! I wanted to kill myself
Good Luck Sweetie

Re: Morning-Night Mixup
I found the magic point to be at the 6 week mark. Until then it was just dealing with her routine. Good Luck!! It's a tough time right now
