Mortgage question! Help!
DH and I just got pre-approved for our mortgage. I know the rates are going up - but I feel we can get a lower rate somewhere else. Is it worth it for us to go check out other banks? The process of getting the pre-approval was long and I'd rather not have to go around giving out our info again. What do you guys recommend?

Re: Mortgage question! Help!
I would suggest shopping rates, its shouldn't be as much of a pain since you already have all your papers together

I agree! Other banks will need the same info...just keep it all in one place and you'll be prepared to have it avail

It is my understanding that they don't let you lock in at a rate until you are in contract. That';s what we were told when we went to the bank for a pre-approval.
