Mortgage Rates Have Dropped And...
...I'm locked in at a higher rate. Is there anything I can do to lower it?

I think you'd have to wait until your rate expires - and then you won't know where the rate will be. Or you can try going to another bank and lose your rate lock deposit with the bank you currently are locked in with.

yep - either wait until it expires, or I would call your bank and say that you are going to eat the deposit and go elsewhere where you can get a lower rate. My guess would be that they would lower your rate rather than lose a customer.

do you have a float in your application? If you do then you should be able to lock at the lower rate. but most banks only offer one. (I wonder if this is a perk with going through the bank itself and not a broker)
