Most beautiful, romantic hotel in Montauk?

DH and I are thinking about going to Montauk next week for a few days for some rest and relaxation since we have never been there. What is the most beautiful, romantic resort you have stayed at in Montauk? Thanks!

We've only been there once. But we stayed at Montauk Manor. It was clean and we liked it. We were going to go back there this summer but decided on Rhode Island instead.

we go to montauk alot and i would have to say montauk manor as being most romantic. sole east is pretty nice too but, i dont think i could ever get DH there again since he woke up with the WORST stiff neck ever and blamed it on the soft platform bed.

I stayed at Montauk Yacht Club before and while it's not exactly "romantic" it is beautiful and the waterview rooms are lovely. They also have a very low-key spa where I had some great treatments. We are going back next month for our birthdays.

I love the duplex rooms at Montauk Manor b/c they are totally private and have little courtyards. They have fireplaces and their own kitchens.

I have stayed at the Panoramic View and loved it!!!! It's not cheap, but then again nothing is out there.

I am not sure what the min. night stay is now, but during the summer it's usually 2-3 night min.

Depends on what you are looking for - close to town? On the water? Trendy?.

You might want to check out the Surf Lodge. While it isn't on the ocean, it's on an inlet, and it's really beautifully decorated. It's very trendy. You won't be in the heart of town though, so you'd have to drive to get to different places. Along these lines, I'd also recommend Sole East. Also not in town, but super hip and beautifully decorated. (But double check that they're open year round...not sure)

If you want to be able to walk everywhere, try the Royal Atlantic (on the ocean in town). It's not "romantic" in decor or style, but you can wake up to the ocean roar which is pretty romantic.

Keep in mind that Montauk Manor, Surf Lodge, Montauk Yacht Club, and Sole East are NOT on the ocean and are NOT in town. So you'll need to drive.

Also, further outside of town is Gurneys and Wavecrest. Both are on the cliffs leading into Montauk and are both on the ocean. Many people love these places and find them romantic. But again, they aren't in the heart of town, so you'd need to drive.

Have fun! If you have any other questions, FM me. I've been spending time in the summer out there for 25+ years! Chat Icon

Yes...they are so nice. I think they are actually condos that owners sublet.

The room we stayed in had a living room and kitche, 2 baths...it also had a bunch of boardgames and video and dvds!
