couldnt see it because I have Fios...but thats insane! how old was she? I would think someone "younger" would do something so stupid but thats no excuse anyway, thats an awful Mom. hoepfully the children willbe taken away and maybe this is a blessing in disguise, god forbid something worse happened!

Quick Summary
An East Farmingdale woman was arrested Tuesday morning after she left her children - ages 3 and 4 - alone at home while she went to a bar, Suffolk County police said.
The father of the children, Carlos Cruz, 28, of North Amityville, called police at 3:40 a.m. Tuesday to report that they had been left alone on Lincoln Avenue, police said.
Cruz called from the home and was there when police arrived. The mother, Emelia Garcia-Cobos, 23, returned from a bar at 4:05 a.m., police said.
She is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and was scheduled for arraignment Tuesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
Police did not know the children's condition or whether they were released to their father.

sadly my aunt (mother's sister) did this years ago with her children and one of the little ones burnt down the apt they were living in. the kids were ok, but taken from my aunt after that.
my aunt has been in and out of jail her whole life, had 5 kids put through the foster care system.
unfortunately i know this is all too real.
