Mother's day spinoff ques - age & restaurant

orginial thread

DS is 4 months old and we are planning on going out Sunday for Mother's Day. It'll be the first time we are taking him to a restaurant and I'm a little nervous. He has major teething issues and I'm so afraid he isnt going to behave.

What's the youngest you took DC to a restaurant? How did they behave?

DS isn't a toy kid - has no interest in them.

From 2 months on, we took him out to dinner at least twice a week. We'd just try to time it around bottles and naps (so we tended to go out at odd times). We found if he had a bottle while we were waiting for our food, things went much more smoothly!

Took DD to a restaurant at about 2 months. Same with trying to time it around naps/feeding times. She had slept all times we have taken her out to a restaurant.

DS has been going out to restaurants with us since about 2 months. He used to sleep the whole time. I actually found it easier when he was that age. Now he's all over and wants to play.

Play music for him on Ipod, bottle, paci, etc. He just would lay in the carseat in the snap and go and was fine.

DD was 4 weeks old when we first took her to a restaurant.

She was less than 3 months old on Mother's Day last year and was fine in the restaurant.

early, probably my DS was about 6 weeks. He was fine.

In fact, it was easy when he was in the carrier. Dining was great.

Now, at 15.5 mos, he's into everything!

ditto.. most times, my kids would just be sitting in their carrier either sleeping or just people watching.

Same here. We take him out now once a week for either lunch or dinner.

We took the girls out right away. We go out to eat once every few weeks so now at 2 and 3 years old they are use to it and do great. We went out to dinner for my 21st birthday when my oldest DD was 7 days old.

I think we went out to eat about 10 days after he was born. He was a dream the first time!

DS was about 2 months old last Mother's Day. DH and I had to take turns holding DS and I BF DS in the bathroom. It definitely was not a fine dining experience.

We consistently go every Friday for sushi, but he's been to saturday night dinners at an Italian restaurant, Sunday brunches, etc.

We try to time it.... so I'll feed him right before we go since that's when he's most content. We bring Sophie and some little toys for him, but he usually just hangs out! Most of the time he'll fall asleep. lately we've needed to take him out of the carrier because he's been getting a little fussy... but it's really no problem at all!

We took DS out at 4 weeks old, and was a dream. He slept the whole time, and we had a nice meal. Since then it's been getting harder. He is constantly trying to climb all over the place, and trying to grab things off the table. Honestly, whenever we go out I dread it. I never eat my meal and always dealing with my little climber. DH on the other hand loves going out. He eats his entire meal and sometimes eats some of mine. Chat Icon
