mothers with DD's that have baby fine hair

I was just wondering what other mothers used in their DD's hair to keep it from falling in their face. I didn't want to cut bangs on my DD but I had no choice since she hates having clips in her hair.
So I cut them, but now they look really retarded and I just want them to grow out. I've tried regular hair spray but I think since her hair is so baby fine it doesn't hold.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I had to cut her bangs, she would not let me put ANYTHING in her hair and when she would it fell right out.
