Movement (kick counts)
Hi girls,
I will be 25 weeks on Tuesday and while I do feel Mikayla moving, I cannot count 10 kicks in an hour. When are you supposed to do kick counts. I feel her moving throughout the day, just not THAT often. I am not sure if I should be concerned. Thanks

Re: Movement (kick counts)
same here, i'm 27 weeks and i only feel her a couple of times a day. Usualyy between 10 and 11 in the mornin and then not again until i lay down at night.
the dr. said as time goes on i'll fee her more. i assumed i wasn't far enough along for the 10kicks/hour thing

Re: Movement (kick counts)
My dr. told me to start kick counts somewhere between 30-32 weeks. (I can't remember at which appt she told me to start.)

Re: Movement (kick counts)
they really didnt tell me to count until i was in my 30th week or so. before that they just kept saying make sure u feel the baby and that sometimes u need to go out of your way to stop and sit down to try to feel the baby (being thats when they tend to be more active)
i was actually confused on the 10 an hour thing - my doc explained to me the last time that its literally each and every little kick - and sometimes in ONE movement there can be three or more - i was really only counting it as one.
its so confusing... i find myself poking my stomach all the time to wake her up so i can keep checking

Re: Movement (kick counts)
i haven't counted a friggin thing. some days my little man is lazier than others, but i know his patterns by now. every baby moves differently - you can't go by these 'formulas' in books, just learn your own baby's movement schedule and only be alarmed if there is some kind of drastic change. sometimes my kid flips out and will violently kick for a minute or 2 and that's EASILY 10 kicks right there, forget about waiting an hour!
