Movie Trivia - am I alone?
I love little facts and surprises about movies. Ocean's Eleven is on and boy are there a lot of cool trivia facts about the movie:
The wig used by Rusty (Brad Pitt) in his disguise as a doctor was Mike Myers's rehearsal wig for Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997).
During the several takes it took to shoot the scene in which Rusty and Linus are spying on Tess as she is introduced coming down the stairs, Brad Pitt, who plays Rusty eating shrimps from a shrimp cocktail, ate 40 shrimps.
The script was sent to Julia Roberts with a $20 bill attached. Included was a note from George Clooney that said "I hear you're getting 20 a picture now". This of course is a joke referencing Julia Roberts becoming the highest paid actress at $20 million per picture.
Got any cool trivia from your favorite movies??

Re: Movie Trivia - am I alone?
in the movie jurassic park... when the jeeps break down and they're stuck sitting there in the rain, you know?
the power is off and you see the t-rex for the first time when it breaks out of its pen...
and then minutes later... when the t-rex is attacking the kids in the jeep... it pushes the jeep over that wall and over a cliff which minutes before wasn't there.
as in. you see the t-rex walking there at pretty much ground level one second... and the next time you see that fence there's a huuuuuge cliff behind it that the dinosaur pushes the jeeps over (when the jeep gets stuck in the car) here's the full clip: t-rex attack scene
so at 2:20 you see the t-rex walking out.
(okay i know its got weird music edited in. ignore that please)
then at 6:45 the t-rex starts pushing it over the wall.
WHERE DID THE CLIFF COME FROM? It's a t-rex but its not 1000 feet tall!
Spielberg says in one of the commentaries that he realized the goof and just trusted that no one would ever notice or care even if they did.
DH had to show me this like 10 times before I actually saw what he was talking about.

It always cracks me up that the Griswolds from Christmas Vacation live two doors down from Darren and Samantha. Margo and Todd are Darren and Samantha's next door neighbors!!!

Re: Movie Trivia - am I alone?
one of my most favorite bits of trivia has ALWAYS been from the Goonies. When they are all going down the slide into the trench where they find the boat - Spielberg did NOT let on what was down there. They didn't know what would be down there would be a FULL pirate ship - so when you see them reacting - they are full on, REAL kid reactions to seeing that boat.
i just adore that movie & that little part always made me happy...
also - when they are on the beach - talking about all the stuff that happened to them - the octopus - it was mentioned by chunk - but cut out of the movie....so it did happen - but not in most cuts of the movie....

LOL! Too funny b/c I've seen the movie a million times and never understood the "octopus" part he was talking about Plus, we had some old Goonies 80's computer game back in the day and there was an octopus you had to jump over. I kept thinking... there is no octopus in the movie

Re: Movie Trivia - am I alone?
I LOVE this, I am a complete goober when it comes to behind the scenes movie trivia. I think I am one of the few people that watch the directors commentaries on DVD's
One of my favorites is Pretty Woman...Gary Marshall was funny on the directors commentary version - in the scene when she first gets in the the lotus with Richard Gere, apparently she passed out because they had been shooting for 15 hours and all she had to eat was some tuna. So Garry Marshall made her eat her told her "Honey - we are shooting a big picture here, your gonna need to eat more than tuna"
The scene where he closes her hand in the necklace box was preplanned by Richard Gere and Garry Marshall but Julia Roberts didn't know about it so when she laughs its genuine and that's why she looks around (apparently looking at Garry. They left it in and I LOVE that its a real laugh

Re: Movie Trivia - am I alone?
I love movie trivia, really I love all trivia I drive everyone crazy with it.
In Remember the Titans the original script was pretty much the same but it was filled with cursing. The directors reviewed the script and decided they wanted the movie to be more family oriented and took out all the curse words and inserted all the hoots and darns and other phrases.
I have more, I just cant think of more right now.

I remember that! I've only seen the Octopus version once and it was only a few years ago. I was like W*T*F?!
I love this thread though! It's so interesting. And I really want to watch Jurassic Park now.

Re: Movie Trivia - am I alone?
I absolutely love movie trivia. I always watch ALL the extra stuff on DVDs. I have actually watched all the extras on the Lord of the Rings discs. There are like 8 hours of it or something. I also live on IMDB. I love the trivia section and the crazy credits.

Love that part! --and Pretty Woman has so many goofs! When they are watching I Love Lucy-she unties his tie and unbuttons his shirt, proceeds to , and then looks up and his shirt and tie are back on! Also, when she is eating pancakes on the first morning-the pancake bite sequence is off (2 bites taken-then just one bite is in pancake).--and when they have a picnic under a tree they take off their shoes-then get up abruptly with there shoes back on. ( I feel like a nerd for knowing this!)
