Moving Companies
Hello everyone!
I was just wondering if any of you have hired a moving company recently.
DH and I are moving in 3 weeks and need to hire a local mover. I have the names of some, but wanted to see if anyone has had any good experiences.
TIA!

Re: Moving Companies
we used Leonetti Brothers in Oceanside and they were great! They were on time, reliable, nice and took really good care of our things. Very reasonable too.

Unfortunately we did not have the same experience. They quoted us twice as much as the moving company we used. I'm talking $2k for a 2 bdrm apt.
We used Allied - suggested by someone on this board. Very professional, great price. They didn't charge for blankets, wardrobe boxes, etc.
Definitely shop around. Have them come in and give you an estimate.

Loved Leonetti Bros. Used them for three moves and they have been fantastic each and every time.

Re: Moving Companies
I have a feeling moving companies are going to be like everything else in life..
Some people love a certain company, some people hate them!!!!!

Re: Moving Companies
I'm curious, too... we have a 2 br apt and are moving to a 2 br co-op... we have a bedroom, 2 desks, kitchen table, bookcase, and a couch (that needs to go out the 2nd story window)... i'm dreading calling around for an estimate... how far in advance do you do this, too?

Re: Moving Companies
anyone ever use Seamen's in Great Neck? I just got a rate of $105/hr for 3 men, all wrapping, assembling, disassembling, etc. and they'll take my couch out the window for $99.... Flat Rate just quoted me $1950!

Re: Moving Companies
We used Kens last week. Had 3 guys. They moved us fast and nothing was damaged or anything!
