Moving Company Rec on LI
Please recommend your moving company. If you are OK sharing it, can you also respond with the cost. Do they charge by hour? TX!

We used Hall Lane when we moved 3 years ago. They came out gave us an estimate and we paid hourly. They were prompt and actually got things done faster than anticipated.

We've used Leavy Brothers everytime we have moved and they are amazing. we paid hourly, wth a 6 hour minimum. They got it done in about 5 hours 45 minutes!

Keating is awesome! I watched them move all of the big pieces out of our 3rd floor walkup and they never hit a single wall. I recommend them to everyone.

We used All the Right Moves in New Hyde Park. I do not recommend them at all!! They ruined ALL of our furniture. I've never had such problems with a company like I had with them. I heard great things about Men on the Move in Floral Park

Ken's Moving & Storage. I got their name here. Really nice guys who took good care of all my stuff.
The only downside is that they charge you from the time they leave their facility to the time they arrive at your house, which was on the longer side since they're in queens and i'm south shore nassau. However, even with that, they were cheaper than the other places I called. I think I paid $800 for about 6 hours of work and 1.5 hours of transport time. that also includes supplies - packing tape, cartons as necessary, etc.
Hiring a movers is worth every penny IMO!

Same here! Broke our crib and took 6 hrs to get to RVC from the city due to traffic... that I guess I got lucky to avoid when I drove out at the same time

Have to agree with the above...although I didn't know they charged you from the time they left their facility. I honestly don't care now that the moving is done and NONE of my furniture or freshly painted walls were damaged! I moved one box and dinged the stupid wall so paying them was worth every penny!
Good Luck though.
