We are most likely going need to store our stuff when we move for a short period
Any recs on the best company
I called PODS, I was quoted $400+ per month... Is this the norm?

MOVING COMPANY w/ STORAGE OPTION
ABF Upack quoted us $395/mo for a trailer United Mayflower containers was 189/mo for storage 1-800-PACKRAT quoted us 267/mo Uhaul has Uboxes now too but they are too small for our purposes
FWIW, PODS quoted us 219.99/mo storage, but their other charges were SO HIGH that we ended up going with ABF since it's a trailer and not a pod, and we can use more or less room and only pay for the amount we use. The transit charges were the cheapest too.
We are going out of state, so renting a truck and a storage container isn't worth it. You'd have to load, unload into storage, reload into the truck and then into the space. Too many variables etc
We checked out full service movers, but they were sky high to store.
You can hire helpers on sites like movinghelp.com or have a full service mover load your pod.

Re: MOVING COMPANY w/ STORAGE OPTION
We just used zippy shells. He is in Hauppauge. I got 2 for the same price as one POD. So far, so good. Very easy to deal with and we have had no problems.
