Do you remove the nails on the walls and clean the entire house when you move out?

I mean sweep, mop the whole nine yards?

I always did. Even when I rented a place and left.

When we moved out of our last apartment we hired a cleaning woman to come in and do a thorough cleaning.

Re: moving out/home sale ettiquete

If someone buys our house, I plan to have our cleaning girl come and give it a final cleaning after we move out. I wish the previous owners would've done that for me, so I'd like to do it for our buyer.

I don't think I'll we'll fill the nail holes and paint though.

When we moved out of our apartment you could have eaten off of those floors! We left it extremely neat. The owner actually thanked my DH profusely for leaving it so clean.
ETA...We did not remove nails

when we moved out of our apt, we cleaned and vaccummed.. when we moved into our house, they made it seem like they cleaned, but in actuality they left it a wreck.

Same here. It was cleaner than when we moved in!

When we sell our home in a few years, I'll have our cleaning people come in for a final cleaning before we leave. The house was BARELY broomswept when we moved in. (The owner was older, though, and it didn't bother me that it wasn't spotless) Luckily, we were planning to nearly gut it, anyway...

I cleaned our house top to bottom 9 months pg even though part of me didn't want to because they pizzed me off with some things they did as far as closing is concerned and rushing everything. Since we were rushed I dind't get a chance to take out the nails but according to our old neighbores they just hung their pictures where I hung mine Chat Icon . I also didn't want them to think I didn't take pride in my home by not cleaning when we left.

Now, the house we bought that was a different story. We were told that they would hire someone to do a big cleaning for us. At the closing DH finds out that they didn't and the sellers (the husband) told my agent they didn't want to pay for it. Well the house was flithy. So their I go again 9 months pg, traveling from LI to NJ to clean. I couldn't believe how dirty everything was and the best part was that they had a cleaning service that use to come.
